And there are many nights I don’t sleep good because I’m worried about her. I’m just hoping it doesn’t happen again, or if it does that it will be less and less frequent. She is supposed to outgrow them.

Kids really pick-up what you are teaching them. After Kailey had an MRI (see my post about her dental problems, behavioral problems, & seizures), they gave her some goldfish crackers and apple juice and she asked the nurse if it was organic. Yes, I try not to beat myself up anymore on what I have done wrong. There were many times where I was very hard on myself but like you said, we just have to try the best we can and at least we are giving them good food now. If I were to have another kid, I would definitely try harder on the breastfeeding but as a back-up plan, there is organic formula. I’m sure it’s very expensive though!

Wow…how scary. I can’t even imagine how hard things must have been for you: going through all the tests, seeing the seizures, worrying about recurrences, worrying about what to eat, etc. etc. Thank you for sharing your story. I hope she continues to see improvement and that there are no more episodes! Definitely don’t beat up on yourself about past ‘mistakes.’ We all make them. I only did the nursing thing for less than a week and pumped for just 1 month. It was all I could do. The second I started my daughter on formula, it was a like a huge, HUGE weight was lifted off my shoulders. I could stop crying all the time, I could be a better parent, I could sleep more than a 2 hour stretch. Of course, looking back I wish I would have pushed harder or seeing a consultant, but at the time, that was the best course of action at that time for us. And I didn’t even try with my boys. I had planned to, but after a rough birth and them being separated for 12 days, it just wasn’t going to happen. I have regrets…but I try not to stress over them. I worry about the chemicals I’ve exposed my kids to over their short lives and even ‘if it’s too late’ for my own body–30 years with A LOT of processed food and what not. But…I’m just trying to do the best I can moving forward with the best of my ability. You’re doing a good job, too! Keep it up! :)
